Project 1 clarifications

Filed under: Uncategorized — jbcox @ 1:24 pm

A reminder — project one presentations will be conducted Thursday. Be prepared to go over your checklist and evaluate one of your websites live for 4-5 minutes.

Second, your five-page paper is now due on Tuesday, Jan. 28. Please be sure to have it printed and stapled to turn in at the start of class.

Your paper should be written in Times 12-point font, double-spaced, with indented paragraphs.

Please read the project one description carefully and notice the three parts of the critique you should focus on:

  1. Five-page paper
  2. Evaluation checklist
  3. Presentation (4-5 minutes)

For Thursday

Please read Krug, chapters 5-6.

Also, visit the Salisbury Chamber of Commerce website, and write a one-page critique based on the principles we discussed in lecture today. You do not need to make suggestions for improvements at this point — just critique.

Before our lecture today, I set a post to be released detailing your homework for the weekend. Please disregard that post! We didn’t get enough covered today, so just ignore that and have a homework-free weekend!

Also, there were glitches with the students who did not register their clickers prior to class (including the ones I registered for you at the start of class). I am trying to get it worked out with IDIS, but I just wanted to keep you posted if you were wondering where your grades are.

I have decided to curve the grades. The highest score was 9 out of 10, so I am giving everyone one extra point to round the highest up to a perfect score.

Have a great weekend!

Please be sure to read chapter 1-4 in your Krug book before class Thursday so we can begin our discussion on Web navigability.

Also, DO NOT forget to register your clicker in MyClasses before class Thursday. Remember, you cannot get points for any clicker activities unless you are registered.

If you need a reminder, here is the link to the instructions for registering your clicker.

For Tuesday

Filed under: Uncategorized — jbcox @ 2:41 pm

Hi all! Don’t forget to visit the G-Net Consulting website to look at some samples of the Web design work they do. You will need to come to class with 4-6 typed questions based on your research/critiques, which I will collect for a participation grade.

I will not accept hand-written questions, nor will I accept questions printed out in lab once the class has begun.

Have a great weekend!
